If you’ve been trying to trade in Blox Fruits, but couldn’t, you aren’t the only one. Yesterday, the devs disabled trading, and promised it would be back within 24 hours.

That’s all well and good, but why did they take it down in the first place? Even though the dev notes don’t mention the actual reason, we’ve been digging and we think we know why.

Why was trading disabled in Blox Fruits?

There are two main reasons why trading might have been taken down.

The first, and more likely, reason why trading was disabled was because several YouTubers and Blox Fruits Discord members have been sharing scripts that, when used, make players auto-accept trades. This resulted in a lot of people getting scammed.

The second, unlikely, reason why trading was disabled was so the devs can finally fix the infamous trading glitch. This glitch, or rather, this scam, involves two people sitting down to trade, while a third person uses a combination of a ship and a specific fruit to soft-freeze the game for a few seconds, making one of the people trading unable to cancel a trade (they can’t jump cancel or select cancel). The reason why we think this will get fixed was because this glitch has been in the game for over a month, and the devs haven’t even addressed it.

Tip: You can tell someone is trying to scam you because they will ask you (while you’re sitting at the trading table) to replace fruits for other fruits, jump to cancel trades, and so on. If you think the trader is being suspicious like this, just walk away with your fruit.

When can you trade again?

The devs promised to enable trading 24 hours after it was disabled, but it might take longer than that. Either way, trading should be enabled relatively soon, maybe even by the time you are reading this.

If you’re planning to trade, be very careful. The script issue will likely get fixed but the trading glitch probably won’t. Try to only trade with people you know so you don’t fall victim to one of these scams.
